From Ilam:

- Go up past the school and take the left fork signposted to Castern

& Throwley.

- After the cattle grid take the left fork and follow the road over the

narrow bridge, up the hill, past Throwley Hall and up onto the top of

the moor. 

- Park near the far end of the trees on your left.

From Waterhouses:

- Go up the main road towards Ashbourne and turn off left to Calton. 

- At the top of the hill turn left then immediately follow the road round

to the right. 

-Take the first turn left signposted to Throwley & Ilam. 

- Follow the road up onto the top of the moor and park near the

beginning of the trees on your right.

From Stanton:

- Go to Calton Moor crossroads (A52/A523) and turn left towards Leek.

- Immediately turn right signposted to Calton.

- Entering Calton go right at the crossroads signposted Throwley & Ilam.

- Take the first right, also signposted Throwley & Ilam.

- Follow the road up onto the top of the moor and park near the

beginning of the trees on your right.
